The minimum wage an Apprentice must be paid is £2.73 per hour in the first year, although many companies do pay more.
Apprentices need to be recruited for a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 40, including a day release for training.
The qualification is available to anybody aged 16 and over. 16-18 year olds are 100% funded.

Apprentices are required to attend off-the-job training at a time and frequency that meets your business needs. A Training Advisor will be allocated to monitor progress and provide support to the Apprentice and Employer throughout the Apprenticeship.
